The Matter of the Digital Image: a meeting with Jacques Perconte
Jacques Perconte explores digital’s many and varied potentials, calling into question the medium itself. Allowing himself to be inspired by the rural or marine landscapes typical of Impressionism, thanks to his algorithms, he pays homage to the movement through the pictorial, almost tactile effect of the stratifications of pixels that make up his images while, at the same time, undoing the outlines to create abstract and unrecognizable visions of nature, which becomes a pure evolution of colour.
Jacques Perconte (Grenoble, 1974) an experimental artist and filmmaker with studies in Fine Arts behind him composes his first digital works with algorithms and codec from the second half of the Nineties onwards, concentrating on themes such as the body, landscape, colour. He lives and works in Paris.
