Händel’s Messiah in images, by Erich Busslinger

The Swiss artist, Erich Busslinger, has created a work in 36 parts, depicting the Messiah by Georg Friedrich Händel. In putting this work together he has based it on the traditional images of Christian art and contemporary contexts. An artist and lover of painting, Busslinger follows the evolution of the work in animated sequences.al.

Erich Busslinger, a Swiss artists (born 1949) studied art and design and came to video after meeting Nam June Paik. He is the founder of the co-operative Point de Vue in Basle. His works, which have been shown internationally, have also been broadcast by Swiss TV; some are conserved in important Swiss museums.
