GIULIANA CUNÉAZ: THE ART OF 3D

Giuliana Cunéaz (Aosta, 1959; she lives and works in Milan) is one of the most interesting and important artist on the panorama of contemporary art with her dialogue between technology and electronic and digital languages. Body, universe, scientific imagination, perception, the confrontation between organic and mechanic, nature and the technical, these are themes dealt with in her installations, which embrace varied works, languages and materials, from photography to sculpture, to drawing, to performance. The fabulous, the fantastic, the invisible, the visionary nature of art and science re-created with a sense of marvel stand at the heart of her work. 3D appears in 2003, both in her videos and in her painted screens, in a dialogue between painting and the virtual; recently the artist has created personalized “sculpture-glasses” made to be an artistic integration of the spectator’s viewing experience. Her works have been presented at numerous international festivals, galleries and exhibitions. INVIDEO presents the première of the video Zone fuori controllo (Areas out of control) both in its 3D version on a special screen and in the theatre on the big screen in its two-dimensional version.

 «The Zone Fuori Controllo cycle is devoted to current issues such as natural catastrophes and ecological upheavals. These are hypothetical landscapes, allowing a simulated, unpredictable journey through the waves of a tempest, the mysterious regions of a cave, the lava flowing from a volcano and the collision of gigantic icebergs […]. 3D stereoscopic viewing dilates the enigmatic and ambiguous aspects of the shapes…».
