VideoARTgames – Meeting with Roberto Cappai

«The videogame was born cold, a genuine mosaic that invited the user, with its weave of pixels to a physical and intellectual participation, suggesting whole worlds in a few inches. Today the videogame market has exceeded that of the cinema and all that’s left for the player is to follow the story, buy extra contents, follow a narrative thread controlling stereotyped characters in perfect settings, where even the rules of physics are reproduced with surprising fidelity». (Roberto Cappai).
The meeting, with the presentation of examples and an in-depth discussion of one of them, takes stock of this little known world, full of hybridizations.

Roberto Cappai (Cagliari, 1988) graduated from the University of Pisa with a thesis on videogames as an artistic medium. He has started independent research on  the archetypes of videogames.
