HOMAGE TO PAOLO ROSA

Paolo Rosa died prematurely in August 2013. An artist, theoretician, teacher and thinker dealing with the complexity of mixed media, as well as an innovator of their languages, he was the creator, with Fabio Cirifino and Leonardo Sangiorgi, of “Studio Azzurro”, a fundamental experience on the panorama of the electronic arts, ranging from video to areas contemplating narrative museums.

INVIDEO, whose path has intertwined with that of Paolo Rosa and “Studio Azzurro” since the very beginning, now wishes to remember him with his first film, Facce di festa. A collective work, it marks the start of the collaboration that is at the heart of Studio Azzurro’s foundation and is a historical documentary about a generation at the turning point between the utopias of the ‘70s and the glittering and desolate scenario of the ‘80s. The film, shot during a party, is made using various techniques, including interviews and the use of a candid camera, individual portraits and choral behaviour, denoting particular sensitivity to the imaginary and to the society of the times, with shifts between authors, “actors” and spectators.
